TPO-02 - Integrated Writing Task In many organizations, perhaps the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team. Having a team of people attack a project offers several advantages. First of all, a group of people
While the passage states that the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team, the lecture expresses a different point of view.
Firstly, the passage claims that as a group of people would have wider range of knowledge, expertise and skills than any single individual, it is likely to succeed more. The assertion is supported by the point that one would have better opportunity to be rewarded and shine as an individual if he could add up to the far reaching impact for the team. However, the lecture states that it may cause free ride for a number of people in the team who would not contribute to the team but would take recognition of the team without any hassle.
Secondly, the passage asserts that a group can work more quickly in response to the task assigned to it and can come up with better solutions to problems and issues as it would have bigger number of people involved and greater resources to apply. but the lecture contradicts with the claim as it states that bigger umber of people would cause more hassle for the team to come up with a conclusion as the team would have to go through back to back meetings to bring up the final consensus.
finally, the passage asserts that a team can take more risky decisions as there is not an individual to be blamed if it fails to succeed. On contrary, the lecture asserts that there is a possibility that the influencers of the team may make or break the game where the responsibility would go on the whole team as a whole even on those who were against the influencers' decision.
