Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better to use printed materials such as books and articles to do research than it is to use the internet. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Research is creative and systematic work undertaken to increase knowledge. To complete research one collects data and information from different sources and concludes his interpretation. Nowadays the internet is the finest source of information. I disagree with the given statement that printed material such as books and articles is better than the use of the internet. The following reasons support my point.
Moreover, the internet has a wide variety of information related to each field. It does not have a limitation of knowledge of a particular place or thing. We can get information and related material from other countries also. For example, during covid19 pandemic researchers collected data from the internet of all over the world to study and make research. There is no need to visit another country or origin country to collect material. These days some libraries are also available online which people can use with one login.
Furthermore, time is a precious thing currently for research. They have a lot to read in limited time and they can not afford spending time on collection of hard copies of books and articles. First, to visit libraries or bookstores then find material and purchase is really time consuming, instead today's students prefer the use of the internet. The material from the internet is cheaper and time saving than printed material.
Additionally, the dissertation or compilation of research work is done on laptop or computer. If a researcher finds something in printed material form then he or she has to type a word to add in research, so to save from such a long process it is easy to use the internet. The reading, analysis and compilation of material is much easier than work with printed material.
Finally, on the basis of the above reasons we can conclude the use of the internet to do research is better than printed material.
