6. The table below shows the percentage of water used in three sectors in six different countries in 2003
The table provides the proportion of water usage for dometic, industrial, and agricultural purposes in 6 different nations in 2003.
In overall, it is clear that while Australia and Canada took the highest percentage of water used for domestic and industrial sections, Chinese people consumed the largest amount of water in agriculture.
According to the domestic area, Australia allocated around 65% of water, accounting for the highest amount of water usage among the nations, followed by British with 23%. While Russia, Turkey and Canada consumed about 10% of water on this section, China came last with only 6%.
The case was totally different when it came to industrial usage.It is noticeable that Canada, which allocated 81% of water in 2003 , achieved the first position in the ranking. Although the proportion was also significant in the UK and Russia, the opposite trend was witnessed in Turkey and China,with only about 11% and 7% respectively.
In terms of agricultural purpose, China and Turkey occupied a massive percentage of water, both over 70%. Likewise, it was Australia which came third in the ranking with 33%. Accounting for a trivial figure, British spent the lowest amount of water, which was 2 times lower than Canada and around 5 times lower than Russia.
