Looking at the graph, it is clearly seen that Indian population was younger than that of France in 1984 while the percentage of elderly people was much significantly higher in France than the other.
In terms of inhabitants of both nations according to age, the proportion of Indian people falling into 0-5 age group accounted for the highest contribution, at around 14% which was twice higher than that of France. The figure for French citizens who were between 5 and 40 years old made up the majority vast, at nearly 8% of both genders while the percentage of people in India who aged 5 to 40 experienced downward trends roughly from 13% to 6%. About 13% of French senior citizens were 70 years old and over, compared to only 1% of the figure for India.
Looking at the figure for population distribution by genders, there was a noticeably larger proportion of French elderly women than men at the age 70 and over, at roughly 18% and 12% respectively while a variety of gender differences were in the figures for India.
