Overall, as bar chart demonstrates, the ratio of aged people are gradually increasing by time , where, the proportion of between 65 to 74 aged group are highest among others aged groups.
To the begin, in 1990 the ratio of aged was around 5%, in which almost 3% are between 65-74 aged group, below 84 was 1% and over 84 was 0.2%. The total ratio of aged citizens are slightly peaking but the proportion of over 85 years is in steady level till 1930. However, in 1940, 4.8% are accounts for 65 to 74 aged group and 1.7% and o.3% for 75 to 84 and over 85 aged respectively. Thereafter, in 1960 and 1970, the proportion of 65 to 74 aged group remain constant with 6.1%, however, the total ratio was gradually hiking and reached nearly 10% of total population of USA. The highest level of aged population was accounted in 1990, over 12% of total population, where, 7.3% was between 65 to 74, 4% was 75 to 84 and 1.2% was over 85 aged groups. Hence, 7.3% was the peak percentage of aged group between 65 to 74 over the period. Moreover, in 2000, the total population of aged group slightly decreased by 1% and the 64-74 aged group also decrease than previous year (6.5%), however, 75 to 84 and over 85 increase by 0.4% and 0.3% respectively, with their highest proportion all over the time lapse.
