The line graph reveals the citizens' needs of fish and three other kinds of meat namely chicken, beef and lamb in a European country from 1979 to 2004, calculated by grams per person per week.
As can be observed from the graph, there are 3 different trends: downward sloping, upward sloping and remaining stable.
First of all, the consumption of beef per person per week sharply fluctuated around 200 grams from 1979 to 1984. It was followed by a plateau at approximetely 240 grams until 1988, when the consumption fell significantly for the rest of the period, ending at just above 100 grams. Similarly, the line showing lamb consumption exhibited the same downward fluctuating trend with 150 grams per person in 1979 and ended up with around 50 grams per person in 2004. Also, accounting for about 60 grams in 1979, the consumption of fish depleted trivially to 50 grams in just a short time then displayed a meager wave-like movement during the whole time.
In contrast, the amount of chicken each person required per week increased considerably from under 150 grams in 1979 to around 250 grams at the end of the period.
To sum up, moving along with the time, chicken became the most favorite meat. On the other hand, eventhough being consumed the most in 1979, both beef and lamb were used much less after 15 years. Last but not least, the consumption of fish remained stable during the time.
