The diagram below shows how coal is used to produce electricity.
The supplied diagram delineates the process of producing electricity using coal. A glance at the diagram reveals that coal is used to produce heat at higher temperatures so that the generator can produce electricity.
It can be explictly observed that at the first stage of this process, coal is poured into pulveriser so that it can be grinded into small pieces. After this step, it is passed through pipes to a huge underground furnace where it is combusted to create heat. The smoke generated by the combustion of coal is released into air with the help of chimney.
Inside the furnace the pipes which contain air are heated at extreme temperatures and the pressure of air inside the pipes is used to rotate the turbines. The air released by turbine is cooled and then again passed along the pipes to furnace. Furthermore, the turbine releases its energy to ignite the generator which produces electricity. Later, this electricity is transferred through underground wires to a transformer which finally provides it to pwer lines to be used by households and industries.
