Generally speaking, Italy and Portugal witnessed significant increases in terms of the average CO2 emissions per person, whereas the trend in the rest nations was downward.
It is clearly seen from the chart that in 1967 the English residents emitted the highest amount of carbon dioxide with about 11 tonnes and then it reduced gradually to just under 9 tonnes by the year of 2007.
