Overall,there was a downward trend in the prices of different types of TV, whereas the remaining category saw a contrasting movement over the given period.
It is clear that there was only an appearance of white and black TV in the first year of period with the price standing at roughly 200 thousand Yen. After ten years, color TV emerged and also had a same price with the black and white TV in 1953. The money that people paid for the former went down significantly to 100 thousand Yen in 1963,and then continued its downward trend more slightly to just over 50 thousand Yen in the last year. Meanwhile, the period from 1963 to 1973 witnessed a considerably drop of 100 thousand Yen in the price of the latter.
By contrast, the average amount of monthly earnings started at just under 50 thousand Yen in 1953, followed by a sharp increase of approximately 100 thousand Yen in 1968. After that, it continued its upward trend more remarkably and reached the peak at around 200 thousand Yen in the last period.
