The graph chart presented shows the numbers of incidents regarding criminal actions that took place in Newport city from 2003 to 2012. Burglary, car theft and robbery are analysed.
In small dots we can find robbery, a criminal action that consist of a theft from a person. This presents a stable characteristic and it stays in a range between 500 and 1000 incidents per year.
Car thefts, indicated by small lines, start at 2700 cases in 2003 and they see a reduction in 2006, dropping at a rate of 2000 incidents. Since 2006 they start to increase again, indeed in 2012 their number reach 2650.
Another story regards burglary. We can find a peak in 2004, 3700 cases, but a rapid descent since this year. In fact, the number of incidents drop to 1100 in 2008, becoming less than car thefts. From 2008 number of cases regarding burglary become stable never reaching 1500 cases per year.
This graph let us see the changes that happened in these years in Newport city. Comparing 2012 to 2003 only burglary changed and saw a drop. Instead car theft and robbery present the same numbers for both years.
