Regarding cycling to work, health and fitness and less pollution are the 2 major segments of the reasons, both accounting for slightly below three fifths of total reasons. Out of five reasons, other three reasons comprise under a fifths, while no parking problems account for 15 percent. In addition, the reason of no cost make up 13 percent, as compared to slightly less by 1 percent in the reason of faster than driving as the least people preferred.
Looking specifically at reason for driving to work, reason of comfort is the major proportion, totaling four fifths of total reasons. The next major proportion is distance to work, comprising slightly over two fifths of reasons. In stark contrast, both reason of need to carry things to work and faster than cycling experience slightly under 15 percent, in contrast to slightly less by 3 percent in the least reason of safer than cycling.
