The following charts provide some information about the number of UK graduate and postgraduate students engagements after college apart from full-time work in 2008.
As can be clearly observed from the first graph, despite the fact that almost 30000 graduate students selected to pursue their further study in 2008, 3500 of them picked voluntary work after finishing college at same year. In addition, the number of graduate students who either involved in part-time work or didn’t have any job was approximately equal, 17735 and 16233 respectively.
Regarding the second graph, while unemployed postgraduate students were 1625, far fewer postgraduate students, the exact number was 345, preferred to do voluntary work in 2008. At the same year, both part-time work and further study were more popular among postgraduate students. 2535 of postgraduate students chose to deal with the former one and 2725 of those students were interested in higher level studies.
It is clear from the graphs that the destination patterns of both graduate and postgraduate students were downright similar in 2008. Eventually it seems that by multiplying the numbers of postgraduate students we can virtually reach the graduate students graph.
