The diagrams below show some principles of house design for cool and warm climates.
The diagrams represent some features of edifice configuration for two different types of weather, cool and warm, as well as some characteristics of the house during warm climate for day and night. Overall, as can be seen from these pictures, for various conditions of weather, houses have specific types of the roof and unique used methods to create convenient facilities.
First of all, after having looked at two diagrams, it should be acknowledged that the overriding purpose of building material in cool weather is to keep heat. In addition to this, one excellent quality of building raw, which is internal insulation, helps to avoid huge heat reduction and mainly thermal building material is used to insulate walls and ceiling. Finally, the last outstanding subtlety of the house is the high-angled roof which allows to engulf warm sun rays because there are not any obstacles for the straight direction of sun.
The construction of houses for the warm climate is totally different in comparison with previous ones. The house’s parts, windows and walls, are completely covered by external insulation in order to prevent warm air penetration. Another method to save favorable conditions inside the house is installation of reflection roof material and special shape of roof.
