At present we rely on oil for most of our energy needs. However, oil is a fossil fuel and causes air pollution and it will eventually run out. Nuclear energy is the only practical and cleaner source of energy. Do you agree?
Fossil fuels not only pollute the air but also are fast depleting. Since solar, wind and hydro energy plants failed to accomplish the energy demand, I firmly accord with many energy engineers who believe that only reliable and non-polluting energy source is nuclear.
Most of the alternative sources of energy are considered unreliable because these are not available all the time. Perhaps because solar energy depends upon sunlight, hydro on tides and wind on fast blowing winds, however generating energy from radioactive elements do not require the miracle of nature but the laboratories where heavy metals, like uranium and thorium, can be processed to produce electricity. This is the reason why many people are discouraged to switch to solar and wind power plants despite various commercial and domestic subsidies by the governments. Ergo, out of all the other cleaner sources, nuclear is the only practical one.
Secondly, unlike other energy sources: oil, gas, coal, solar, and biogas, raw materials for nuclear are the least expensive and have highest energy yield. To explain, one tiny radioactive isotope, such as uranium which is abundantly, inexpensively and readily available on the earth, can produce a massive amount of energy. It is been proven that even if we have merely 400 nuclear plants, the energy demand of the entire world can be met. To substantiate further, an extensive study on different energy sources conducted in 2019 by US Energy Administration revealed that nuclear has the highest capacity factor (a factor which accesses the ability to generate power), which is twice more than that of coal and natural gas. Therefore, nuclear is the answer to the unprecedented energy demand of the future.
To sum up, as there are limited fossil fuel reserves and all the other energy substitutes seem un-suitable at the moment, the only option left to quench the energy demand is nuclear.
