The graph bellow shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The following graph illustrates how many grams per person per week of fish and three distinctive meats were consumed in a specific European country during 1979 to 2004.
As can be clearly observed from the graph, there are two main trends: upward and downward. Chicken is placed in the upward group. Chicken consumption experienced a dramatic increase from under 150 grams per person per week to more than 250 grams during 1979 till 2004.
The downward group consists of beef, lamb, and fish. Unlike beef and lamb, fish consumption declined gradually from more than 50 grams to nearly 50 grams between 1979 and 2004. The consumption of both beef and lamb went down sharply at the same course. Whereas beef consumption witnessed some kind of fluctuation during 1979 to 1989, it dropped from 250 grams of 1984 to around 100 grams in 2004. The pattern for lamb was slightly different. It was 150 grams in 1979, however it declined significantly and reached approximately 50 grams in 2004.
It is clear from the graph that despite the fact that consumption of fish remained relatively fixed, albeit its decrease at the final year of 2004, the trend of other three kinds of meat observed sharp fluctuations, whether fall or rise, during 1979 to 2004.
