The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The given chart illustrates the proportion of fish and other kinds of meat consumed by a European nation in the period of 25 years from 1979 to 2004.
Overall the consumption of fish and different types of meat has seen a dramatic fluctuation.
In particular the yield of fish eaten has slightly slowed down, from over 50 grams per person per week down to approximately 45 grams. The reduction is more or less 10 grams in the given period.
On the other hand, the number of lamb in the given period has witnessed a significant change. Particularly the consumption of lamb has oscillated, but decreased, from 150 grams per person per week to about 50 grams.
In contrast to the lamb consumption, the number of chicken consumed has eventually gone up over the period on 25 years, from approximately 145 grams rising to nearly 250 grams per person per week. This surge has led chicken to be the most consumed meat from 1979 to 2004.
Similarly to the lamb eaten, the amount of beef has plummeted, though increased within the years 1981-1983, and 1985-1988. The yield of beef has decreased from nearly 220 to 180 grams from 1979 to 1981, as well as massively rising from 1981 to 1983, and 1985 to 1988. However, since 1990, the quantity of beef has fluctuated a lot. In an over view, the amount of beef has drastically reduced.
In summary, the quantity of fish and other meat consumed has all changed from 1979 to 2004. However, the amount of fish has been evaluated as a gradual change, particularly a decrease, when compared to others.
