To begin with, in 1985, 3199 miles travelled by car, which is the most by any other modes, and this trend was continued in 2000, it was 4806. There was a drastic decrease seen in the average distance in miles travelled by Bicycle and Local bus from 1985 to 2000, it accounted from 51 to 41 and 429 to 274 respectively. 18 miles was decreased in walking modes in 2000.
Moving towards, there had been a dramatic increase noticed in the number of miles travelled by bus and taxi between 1985 and 2000, it comprised for from 54 to 124 and from 13 to 42 correspondingly. However, a slight increase observed in figure travelled by train and other modes which is almost by 77 in both.
To cap it all, it can be vividly manifested that travelling by bicycle and walking was not favourite by England individuals.
