Buying things on the Internet, such as books, air tickets and groceries, is becoming more and more popular.
Do the advantages of shopping in this way outweigh the disadvantages?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
In recent times, e-commerce websites have witnessed an exponential increase in the number of people shopping online. Although this can lead to a host of problems, from my perspective, the advantages of Internet shopping overshadow the disadvantages it has.
On the one hand, it is clearly seen that online shopping is more reasonably priced. One prominent justification for this is that many shopping websites like eBay or Amazon now integrate money-reducing extensions like Honey, which can increase the chances of people paying lower prices. Another reason why the internet online is increasingly ubiquitous is that it is more convenient than traditional shopping. The former allows shoppers to buy a host of products with different price ranges and models at a click of a button, whereas the latter is more time-consuming and more physically demanding. Then again, with window-shopping or buying groceries in-store, people may have a higher chance of paying a more extravagant amount of money.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that there are a significant number of scams in regards to shopping for clothes online or buying cutting-edge technology devices. These aforementioned scammers may put false images of their products to deceive people into buying those. For example, the dress quality may be dramatically reduced or the technological gadgets may not run as fast as they advertise.
To recapitulate, although e-commerce can have drawbacks like scammers and deceptions revolving around the quality of products, the benefits of online shopping still outweigh the drawbacks.
