The given picture illustrates the process explaining how sugar is made from sugar cane.
Overall, the production process consists of seven steps, starting with sugar cane being grown and ending with cooling and drying the resulted sugar.
Looking closer at the diagram, sugar canes are grown from 12 to 18 months before being harvested either by hands or with the help of an industrial farming machine. Following this, these harvested canes are put into a crushing machine in order to extract the cane’s juice.
After the extraction, the liquid is funneled into a limestone filter for purification purpose. In the next step, the liquid is put into an evaporator, which removes water in the liquid, until the juice becomes syrup. At the seventh stage, the outcome is separated in a centrifuge into white sugar crystals. Ultimately, the resulted sugar crystals are dried and cooled, at which point consumable sugar will be made.
