The charts provide information about how adolescents living in Tokyo listened to music last month, and the results of an international survey about if people liked live or recorded music better.
Overall, while men had a tendency to use MP3 players to listen to music, women preferred live music. It is also clear that the vast majority of people would rather listen to live music.
It can be seen that 79% of males listened to music by MP3 players, followed by live music (60%) and Internet (55%). However, only 19% of male respondents used CDs. For females, live music was the most preferable way of listening to music with the percentage of 44%. This was followed by Internet (42%), and MP3 players (40%). The same as males’ choice, CDs was the least liked with the proportion of 22%.
About music preference, 70% of young people chose live music, whereas those who preferred recorded music was 26%. Especially, 4% of them answered Don’t know when being asked.
