Essay topics:

The chart shows the number of men and women in further education in Britain in three periods and whether they were studying full-time or part-time.

The chart depicts the number of British male and female undergraduates working part-time and studying full-time in tertiary education in connection with three distinctive time periods.

Overall, students of both genders were in favor of working part-time rather than pursuing full-time education. In addition, the trend of men having part-time education is a fluctuation while that of women was an overall increase.

As per the chart, the prevalence of men working part-time was the highest in the time period of 1970-1971 with the figure crossing one-million mark, whereas that of their female counterparts was in 1990-1991 with 100-thousand students more than the former. When considering the period of 1980-1981, the ubiquity of part-time education seen in both genders was somewhere in the vicinity of 850 thousand. However, in the next ten years, the figure of male students working part-time jobs only witnessed a slight increase when comparing with the exponential increase seen in that of women.

In regards to full-time education, the number of men pursuing this type of education saw a gradual increase over the time period. In comparison with men, the trend of women doubled, from merely 100 thousand to 200 thousand students. In 1990-1991, this growth in terms of females not having a side job slowed down with apparently only 210 thousand.
