The maps below illustrate several renovations to the Colwick Arts Centre in 2005 and present.
Over the 6-year period, the art centre witnessed some spectacular developments. The biggest development is that the wasteland has been replaced by a new stage and an outdoor exhibition and performance area.
In 2005, in the middle of the centre, both the concert hall and cinema were in one room together, but today the cinema and concert hall are expanded into two different rooms in the upper-right hand. Whereas in 2005 there were two galleries, by now there is only one on the left-hand side. Furthermore, a central exhibition area was constructed in the middle of the centre for people to appreciate art. While the information desk remained unchanged, a new drama studio was added nearby the cinema.
Another major change to the building in 2005 was the addition of two new meeting rooms that replaced the snack bar. When in 2005 there was the toilet next to the gallery, today it has been replaced by a coffee shop, and the toilet has moved to the right-hand side. Nevertheless, the wasteland is now used for open-air display and show purpose, with a new stage at the center being surrounded by many trees.
