The table illustrates the large square of wooden areas in many places of the world.
Overall, there were downward trends of forested lands in Africa, Oceania, North and South America, whereas the million hectares of those areas were increased in Asia and Europe between 1900 and 2005. The table also gave information about unpredictable fluctuations in Asia, North America in this period.
Look more closely, a similar pattern between Asia and Europe was significant growth of forest areas in 1990 and 2005. In Asia, those lands were remarkably decreased by 6 million hectares between 1990 and 2000, followed by 576 and 570 millions; however, there was a sudden ups and downs with the increase by 14 million in 2005, 584 millions. Besides, there was a steady growth in Europe from 1990 to 2005, with the highest fingers followed by 989, 998 and 1001 million hectares.
According to the table, forested areas were noticeably dropped in Africa, Oceania and South America in 1990 and 2005. Those lands of each nation were around two parts compared with those in Europe. Additionally, the square lands in North America declined by 3 million between 1990 and 2000, respectively 708 and 705 millions hectares, but they still kept stable at 705 millions in 2005.
