The map below shows the changes that have taken place at the waterfront area of a town called Darwin between 2009 and 2014.
Given are the two maps delineating the physical modifications of a coastal area in Darwin during a phase of 5 years, commencing in 2009.
Perceptibly, the core alterations happened mainly in the south of the region where it experienced a shift away from heavily serving the industry to education purposes at length.
To the north of the provided maps, there were not myriad changes except for the eradication of the industrial area inside the circular footpath to make room for another new swimming pool that was adjacent to the original lake. Meanwhile, the other two swimming pools located along the seashore and other prominent facilities such as the school in the further northwest and the conventional center nearby still stayed unchanged over the years. Likewise, the fishing area was also kept since the year 2009 until 2014.
However, the story went different to the south of the coastal region as the whole space used to serve for the industrial area which was removed out of the town was filled with a wide range of plants and trees creating a green space, instead. Moreover, the area was further featured with the appearance of the new university building in the west along with another new-built residential building in the middle. Strikingly, a period of 5 years brought the presence of the new harbor erected in the southeast of the map on the sea, which was accessed by following a new footpath running from the west.
