The chart below shows the value of one country's exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
The given bar chart illustrates one nation’s exports categorized in five types of products, namely petroleum and agricultural products, engineered goods, gems and jewellery and textiles in the two year period, starting from 2015. Also, the table compares the change in each category of exports in 2016 to 2015. Overall, it is clear that petroleum products accounted for the highest percentage among the five types of exports in the given period, meanwhile, the opposite was true for textiles.
Regarding the bar chart, petroleum exports registered around 60 billion dollars, which was the highest figure in 2015, followed by engineered goods at just over 50 billion dollars. In the same year, gems and jewellery exports accounted for around 40 billion, while the figure for agricultural products and textiles stood at about 30 and 25 billion accordingly. Over the next year, it could be witnessed the same pattern for petroleum and engineered products, about 60% each. The figure for gems and jewellery and agricultural products was quite similar to the previous year, at around 40 and 30 billion dollars in turn. However, a clear upward trend was seen for textiles export, at approximately 30 billion.
Turning to the given table, there was an increasing pattern for most of the categories, except for gems and jewellery. petroleum and agricultural products showed a slight rise between 2 years, by 3% and 0,81% respectively. Otherwise, engineered goods increased roughly by 8,5% and textiles witnessed a significant growth of around 15%. In exception, there was a relative decrease by 5,18% in gems and jewellery exports.
