The graph below shows population figures for India and China since the year 2000 and predicted population growth up until 2050.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The graph entails the trends of the population in China and India, starting from 2000 with the prediction for the next 50 years.
Looking from all perspectives, it is readily apparent that the figure of China has a downward trend in the coming years while India has an upward trend in the meantime. In the initial years between 2000 and 2020, China has an upper hand in population over India, with around 0.2 billion difference in 2000. The gap became narrow later on and both trends made a junction at approximately 1.45 billion in the year 2030. After 2030, there is a gradual increase in the population of India which arrived at 1.6 billion at the end of the prediction. Contrastingly, China has witnessed a steady decline in its people, reaching 1.4 billion at the same ending year.
To sum up, the first twenty years has China with a larger population than India whilst the reverse can be observed in thirty years in the future, with India outgrowing the number of people than China.
