The given pie chart illustrated the proportion of graduates who held various degrees in a given nation, between 1980 and 2008. It is typically manifest that the First-degree Arts and Science lost popularity whereas the Masters and Doctoral courses gained popularity after a period of nearly three decades.
To start with, in 1980, 13% of the graduates held a Ph.D. Science, whereas in 2008, this proportion significantly increased, that is it reached around 30%. Moreover, the Doctoral courses in Arts were increased slightly from 1980 to 2008, from 2% to 7% respectively. Similarly in Masters Arts, the graduate qualified also slight increase, from 12percent to 13 percent.
On the other hand, a quarter of the graduates held a First-degree in Arts, while only 19% went for First-degree in Science. But in 2008, this percentage was considerably declined that is 11% and 10% respectively. Furthermore, the figures for opting for the Master Science remain stable in both years.
Overall, it is conventionally seen that Ph.D. opting graduates increase. Also, Postgraduates were decreased. But it is interesting to see that Masters in Science pursued the same people.
