The diagrams below show the stages and equipments used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.
The given diagrams provide information on the process of manufacturing cement and how building concrete is produced.
From a cursory glance, it is evident that the cement production consists of 5 stages beginning with crushing and culminating in packing cement into bags, While four different machines are needed in the process of making cement, the concrete production requires only one machine and four different materials.
A closer insight into the first diagram reveals that cement is made from limestone and clay, which is crushed into powder. Then, the powder is mixed together and goes through a rotating heater. The heat is provided by another equipment and the machine rotates around itself. At the subsequent stage, the by-product travels on a grinder and becomes cement. Finally, cement is packed into bags.
Going into detail with the second diagram, the process of producing concrete needs a machine called concrete mixer. There are four materials required in this process. Gravel is the main ingredient, which accounts for 50% of the combination, followed by sand with 25%. Cement and water is included in this process with the proportion of 15% and 10% respectively.
