Many manufactured food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, which causes many health problems. Sugary products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar.
Do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, many people opine that only by raising the price of sugar-contained products will well-being of residents be upgraded. While the health of society, in general, may improve if sugary food become exorbitant, I believe that it brings more downsides than advantages.
Turning into detail, it is deemed that many health issues stem from the high grade of saccharide from the citizens’ eating habits. To be more specific, it is metabolism disorders, namely obesity and cardiovascular diseases, that turn into more prevalent due to the overuse of sweeting additives compared to the past. In fact, around 1900s where sugar is a precious goods which only grows in certain areas over the world, hence, most people cannot approach these highly expensive products, leading to lower sugar-related disorders than ever. Indeed, the officials should take an action into food and drink industry, in which they can impose a new tax with a reason that protects residents’ health. As a consequence, people are likely to reduce the proportion of high calory products in their nutrition on a regular basis.
From my perspective, I inclined to those who oppose to this proposal. Firstly, sugar is a necessary resource for the activities of the body, therefore, requiring those in daily meals plays a pivotal role in assuring the energy for working. According to Ministry of health, only by taking it more than 10 grams per day in the long run is citizens’ health prone to be metabolism-related diseases. Therefore, elevation the cost for saccharide food is likely to lessen the required factors for daily life. However, if individuals are aware of detriments brought by their eating habits, it is obvious that there will be an improvement in eradicating numerous health risks.
In conclusion, although increasing the price of sugary products is likely to drop the health problems, I disagree that this proposal leads to the lack of requisite energy.
