The pie charts below show the comparison of different kinds of energy production of France in two years.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The charts illustrate the change of different 5 categories of sources of energy produced by France in the course of ten years, namely coal, gas, petro, nuclear and other, starting in 1995.
Overall, it is immediately obvious that an upward trend was experienced in coal, gas, nuclear and other with the exception of petro, which was gone into a free-fall. Additionally, coal had remained the most prevalent over the surveyed year.
As is evidence, coal was accounted for 29.80 percent in 1995. Then, this figure was increased until reaching a peak of 30.93 percent in 2005. A similar trend was witnessed in gas, which was accelerated from 29.63 percent to a level of 30.31 percent in 2005. Not only coal and gas can be seen to move upward, but other and nuclear was also registered the same trend to approximately 9.10 percent and 10.10 percent, respectively.
In a contrast, petro, occupying 29.27 percent in 1995, was evidence to go into a free-fall. From then on, petro was declined considerably. As a result, only 19.55 percent of the total production belonged to petro in 2005.
