The pie chart gives information about the main causes which made land become less productive. In addition, the table illustrates the percentaage of land which are affected by these reason in three nations during the 1990s.
It is noticeable that most land are demolished by over - grazing. Moreover, Europe was the area which had the largest part degraded land while the opposite was true for North Amarican.
Looking at the pie chart in more detail, the percentage of land which are became less productive by over- grazing was the highest, ely.compared with deforestation and overcultivation, with 35% and 30%, respectively. In addition, the information of other reason accounted for a small minority, with 7%.
As for the table, Europe was the area which had thehighest proportion of total land degrated, with 23%. In addition, roughly half of that was caused by deforestation. Regarding Oceania, the information of degrated land was 13%, overgrazing accounted for 11.3% while others was made up by deforestation. Finally, the figure of land which are degrated in North Amarica constituted a tiny minority while the mainreason of it was over-cultivation, with 3.3%
