The bar chart and table illustrate how much passengers were satisfied with the services provided by US airlines from 1999 to 2007.
As is shown, the majority of customers surveyed felt content with their services, in which staff’s politeness was the most appreciated.
During the 9-year period, the level of contentment with American airlines was fairly high, increasing gradually from 65% to 72%. Accordingly, the figure for passengers’ dissatisfaction saw an opposite trend which had decreased to just 24% by 2007.
As far as aspects of flying experience are concerned, the table shows that almost all aspects had recorded upward trends. Particularly, the votes for courtesy of flight attendants were highest with the number rising steadily from 88% to 92%. Raking second, check-in/gate agents also registered a slight rise despite a minimal reduction of 1% in 2000 to stand at 88% by 2007. In comparison, a smaller percentage of travelers (79%) felt the same with the airlines’ schedules. The fastest pace, however, was recorded in the satisfaction with ticket prices, which surged by 20% despite having quite a low proportion (60%). By contrast, the comfort of seats was considered the least satisfying when there were only about under a half of the passengers, at 47%, giving positive comments on this.
