Starting at about 14% in 1976, the UK has the highest percentage of people living in Australia. However, this figure continuously declined to hit a low of ảound 5% in 2011. Likewise the UK, the other countries which began at 1% and initially ranked just behind the UK's , saw a considerable fall from 12% to around 7% in the first 10 years. Between 1986 to 2006, there was a significant growth in the number of residents living in other countries from about 7% to around 14%. The period from 2006 to 2011 saw a slight decrease in the rate of inhabitants from other countries from about 14% to around 12%. By contrast, the proportion of people living in Asia began at the lowest point in comparison with the UK and other regions at around 3% in 1976. From 1976 to 2011, the percentage of people living in Asia surged dramatically from about 3% to 15%
Turning to the total, with around 23% of all the population, the total population in Australia ranked the highest in comparison with the others 3. Between 1976 to 2001 saw a considerable decline in the proportion of residents from about 25% to around 20% before there was a significant rise in the percent of inhabitant to 25% in the last year.
