WORKING AGE ADULTS IN FOUR COUNTRIES
The linegraph gives information about the rate of a adult in the workforce in France, USA, Japan and Germany over the period 90 years, with the prediction to 2050.
As observed from the graph, there was a dramatic drop in the number of Japan’s laborforce between 1960 and 2020 and it will continually fall during next 30 years. Meanwhile, the percentage of adult population in France and Germany witnessed a gradual fluctuation over the period surveyed.
In 1960, the rate of people in working age in the US ranked the lowest figure, at about 60%, then it increased considerably in 1980 and overtook the population of Germany and France’s adult. After leveling off and having a minimal jump in 2000, this figure is likely to plunge in 2050 and tend to be the highest rate among three other countries. Whereas, the number of Japanese in working age peaked at 70%, the highest figure in 1990, then this number sank until 2020 and it can be predicted to tank again in 30 years.
Besides, the proportion of France’s worker saw a slight growth during the first 30 years and met the same percentage with America's adult in 1990. This figure is projected to meet a need again with German workforce’s proportion in 2030 and are likely to surpass more than about 5% in 2050.
