Overall, the proportion of the digital population in each nation witnessed an upward trend over the period. Furthermore, it is clear that a much larger proportion of Americans and Canadians had access to the Internet in comparison with Mexicans. It is also of note that Canada experienced the fastest growth in Internet usage.
At the beginning, the figures for Mexicans accessing the Internet grew slightly before climbing significantly from 10 % to 50% in 2005 but this tendency became slower and finished the period with around 40%.
With respect to the USA, in 1999, 20% of those using the Internet and this figures is likely to more than quadruple by the end of the period shown. With reference to the proportion of people who browse online platforms in Canada, it saw a dramatic upswing, starting in third-place from about 12% and reaching a peak of 100% in 2009.
