The bar graph compares families weekly spending in a country between 1968 to 2018.
Overall, households weekly spending in 1968 were mainly on basic need such as food, housing, and clothing and footware with food percentage was higher than both housing and clothing while families in 2018 weekly spending were food, housing and leisure with the percentage of spending on food had a noticeable reduction. Categories such as housing,transport and leisure experienced a sharp increase in 2018 while clothing and footware had decreased in 2018.
In 1968, 35 percent of household weekly income was spent on food, this figures had decreased significantly in 2018 from 35 percent to around 16 percent. Housing, transport and leisure had around 10 percent, 8 percent, and 9 percent individually. These percentage had grown sharply in 2018 with around 18 percent in Housing, about 14 percent in Transport, and around 22 percent in Leisure.
Fuel and power, and Personal goods had around 6 percent and 7 percent respectively in 1968, but in 2018 these figures had experience a reduction with both had around 4 percent each. Household goods remained the same both in 1968 and 2018 with around 7 percent respectively.
