The graph below shows radio and television audiences throughout the day in 1992.
Summarise the Information by selecting end reporting main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The graph tells us the percentage of people in the UK, aged four and over, who watched television or listened to the radio, measured over a 24-hour period during the last three months of 1992.
It is clear that watching television was popular in the evening while listening to the radio was mostly confined to the early mornings. In fact, at 8:30 am, only approximately 10% of the people were watching television compared to almost 30% who were listening to the radio at that time. In contrast, at 6:00 pm, 50% were watching television and only around 5% were listening to the radio.
Further scrutinizing the line graph that television audiences fell dramatically from 9:00 pm and within only 3 hours the percentage of viewers had halved (half). However, radio audiences fell gradually and steadily over a period of 17 hours from 8:30 am to 2:00 am.
Overall, the trend for television viewing was very different from that of listening to the radio. Watching television was more popular in the evening while listening to the radio was more popular in the morning time
