The provided pie charts illustrate how much garbage of different kinds was disposed in a specific country in the year of 1960 and 2011
Overall, there was an upward trend in the amount of food, wood, plastic and metal waste, meanwhile the figures for glass and green waste prevailed consistency and paper, textiles and other types of waste witnessed a decrease. Also of particular note is that the most dramatic change was experienced in paper and plastic waste.
Paper waste made up the greatest percentage of total waste disposal, with 25% in 1960. This figure, then, substantially fell to 15% in 2011. In the meantime, the figures for textile decreased considerably from 17% to 11%, while other wastes witnessed a threefold decline from 12% to 4% throughout the period. In addition, glass and green waste followed the same pattern, which remained stable at 5% and 9% respectively in 2011.
Regarding the remaining types of waste, 12% and 8% food and plastic waste was disposed of in 1960, followed by a significant rise to 21% and 18% in that order, becoming the first and second greatest figures for waste disposal in 2011. Similar changes, but to a lesser extent, could be seen in the figures for wood and metal waste, increasing from 4% and 8% in 1960, to 8% and 9% respectively at the end of the period.
