The two maps give information about the change in the layout of Ashford between 1965 and the current structure.
In general, the layout of Ashford has significantly changed, with additional features and the loss of several areas. It can be seen that it has changed from a small town to an urbanized area.
In the north of Ashford, the enormous forest has been destructed to make way for a new parking lot next to the river bank. In 1965, there are few houses in the town, but various houses and apartments have been constructed recently. A new car park in the residential area connects a small path to Road Bridge.
In the south, the river has reduced in size, and various houses have been built across the river bank. It can be seen that there is a significant change in the transported infrastructures. People had to use the ferry to travel to the other side of the river in the past. In contrast, Road Bridge has been erected to connect with the city and is parallel to the footbridge now. Finally, two car parks have been built.
