The given map depicts the village Ryemouth’s development from 1995 till now. Overall, there was a growth in houses in residential area as well as the increase of facilities but some buildings of the village were demolished or replaced and decreased in size.
In 1995, there were eight houses along the road and four ones on the left at the turn but the number of them began to increase to 10 for on both sides of the street and 6 for the ones in the new road being widened. Besides, the village had only one hotel in the past whereas now it stands with one more car park in the south side. However, the northern farmland and forest park was converted to a joint area in a smaller size: the golf and tennis court. Similarly, the shop on the left bottom was knocked down in replacement for the restaurant. In addition, on the left-hand bottom of the map where the fish market once was there and being destructed to make room for apartments. The fishing port was opposite them which is no longer there as it used to be years ago. In contrast, the café makes no changes between 1995 and now.
