The pie charts provided illustrate the various activities done by European adults during their leisure time in 1985 and 1995. In general, it is clearly apparent that the respondents mostly spent their free time by watching TV during the period given.
In the beginning of the periods, watching TV was the most popular leisure activity at 32% followed by eating out at 23%. In addition, the participants who loved talking with others such as friends and family in their spare time constituted about a fifth (21% and 18% respectively).
In a decade, watching TV remained the most popular activity, although the percentage slightly decreased at 30%. Interestingly, there is new activity that started to be the second favorited among the respondents namely playing computer that accounted at 27% of the total activities. Furthermore, there is a marginal incline in the proportion of participants who liked to talking with friends by 5%. However, the proportion of respondents who prefered to go eating out or talking with family decreased considerably to 8% and 7% respectively. Finaly, the other activities ranged from 2% to 6% in the period given.
