In this set of material,the author and the professor discuss whether dinosaurs were endothermal animals or not.The reading passage assumes that those ancient reptile animals were endothermal,and suggests three reasons. However, the listening passage repudiates what stated in the article and provides three counterclaims proving that the evidences of the article are not convincing.
First,the professor claims that the fossils of the polar dinosaur which found in the plar are does not proof that dinosaur was endothermal as the passage mentions. Since, the polar are was warmer than today and the dinosaurs at that time could not migrated and prefer to harbinat which casts doubt the article.
Second,the speaker thinks that even though the leg position of dinosaurs are similar to those modern endothermal animals like crocodiles and lizards which help them for running. It is unnecessary structured for dinosaurs to run only, it could be used for weight support and help those old anilmals to grow up and overcome their heavy body weight.Whereas, the reading passage has opposit view.
Third, the reading passage believes that the presence of Haversian canals which is necessary to allow those animals to grow quickly as most of endothermal bone animals in modern life.While, the professor thinks that the this canal is not enough clue to support the endothermal properties of dinosaurs, since, dinosaurs have another ring structure which indicates the time period of growth of those animals which shows that there were rapid in then slow followed by rapid growth which something impossible to endothermal animals to have this ability of growth.
