The given bar chart illustrates the changing patterns of the percentage of people were born in Australia and who were born outside Australia living in urban, rural and town between 1995 and 2010.
With the exception of the statistics for cities, which went up, all categories underwent a downward trend over the period shown. Throughout the period, the percentage of cities was constantly receiving the highest figures.
As can be seen from the chart, people who were born in Australia and outside Australia living in cities increased sharply from 50 and 60 to 65 and 80 per cent in a 15-year period commencing from 1995.
Turning to the figures for inhabitants who were born in Australia and outside Australia living in towns and rural areas, they came in second and third place in 1995, with 20 and 15 per cent, respectively. During the next 15 years, there was a remarkable decrease to nearly 17 and 15 per cent.
