Given is the bar chart which illustrates the percentage of male and female students who passed high school competency examinations in seven different subjects from 2010 to 2011.
In general, both genders did very well in the courses of computer science, mathematics and foreign languages. There were significant differences in chemistry and geography as girls outperformed in the former while boys did better in the latter.
Firstly, the statistics of computer science, foreign languages and math are higher than 42% in both genders, whereas the percentages of the rest subjects are lower than 37. The passing rates of both genders in math and foreign languages have fairly identical figures as they are 46 to 47 in foreign languages and 48 to 49 in math.
Secondly, there was a 15 percent difference between both genders in Chemistry; 30% in girls and 14% in boys. In geography, it can be seen a huge difference in female and male students as 30% of male passed, compared to only 20% in female population.
