The chart below shows the number of households in the US by their annual income in 2007, 2011 and 2015.
The provided bar chart illustrates the fluctuation in the number of US households in terms of their earnings yearly in three years including 2007, 2011 and 2015.
Overall, it is clear that while the number of the residents earning 100,000 dollars and above in the US experienced the big gap in changes over the three years surveyed, the other ranges of incomes which were fewer than 100,000 fluctuated moderately.
Regarding the number of households in the US who earned 100,000 dollars and more, while there were 30 million families being able to achieve this rank in 2007 and 27 million in 2011, the US witnessed a significant rise in the number of families earning this amount of 100,000 dollars, accounting for approximately 35 million households. Similarly, the salary rate of 25,000 to 49,999 experienced a slight rise of around 10 million households for each rate in the US over the course of those years surveyed.
On the other hand, the remaining two categories of household income either stayed stable or increased slightly. For example, there was a stability in the number of families, who earned the rates from 50 millions to below 100 millions, in the US during 8 year period from 2017, accounting 20 million households earning 50 million dollars to 74,999 dollars and approximately 15 millions for the income range between 75 millions and 99,999 dollars.
