The figure depicts how the type of media by which to society of different ages received daily news in 2011.
Overall, it is obvious that radio had the highest percentage of users among all age groups, except the youngest one who picked social media the most. Conversely, there was the least number of people interested in using microblogging.
Regarding two news media mentioned, while people aged 10-17 years old opted for radio by only 40%, the rest of age categories received the largest percentage of users ranging from 85-90% similarly. Secondly, children, teenagers and young adults became 80% users of internet-based social media, but it had 50% users of 30-49 years old, experiencing a decline by 10% as people got older.
Moving to microblogging, only 25% of 18-29 year olds showed their interest in it, followed by young people with 20% users and three categories of older people (30-49, 50-64 and 65+) had the lower percentage of microblogging users, from 19% to 10% respectively.
