The first graph shows the number of train passengers from 2000 to 2009; the second compares the percentage of trains running on time and target in the period.
The given line charts compare the train passenger count and the percentage of on-time trains compared to the set goal between 2000 and 2009.
Overall, it is apparent that the volume of train passengers increased despite some fluctuations. In addition, although the running time became more accurate over time, only half of the recorded years saw the trains’ punctuality higher than the target.
Regarding the passenger traffic, beginning at roughly 35 million users in the first year, it started to grow to over 40 million in the next three years, after which it returned to its initial figure. The number saw an upturn, reaching a peak at approximately 47 million in 2005 before marginally dropping and hovering at around 42 million from 2006 onwards.
In terms of the punctuality rate, the year 2000 saw a 3% lower than its set 95% goal. The accuracy rose progressively, reaching the required percentage in 2002. The percentage of on-time trains exceeded the target during the next two years before starting to decrease to only 92% in 2006. From that, the figures witnessed an upswing and hit its highest in 2008 and 2009 at 96%.
