The table and the two pie charts demonstrate data on police expenditures in the two years 2017 and 2018 in a specific region in Britain. While the given table shows the origin of money, the charts illustrate the ways it was utilized.
Overall, it is apparent that the total budget in 2018 from three different sources increased slightly and the investment from the national government of this region was the highest. On the other hand, in the pie charts, spending on salaries for both officers and staff was much higher than on technology, and buildings and transport.
From the table, the national administration invested so much money in the police budget which was over 175 million euros and 177 million euros in 2017 and 2018, respectively. These two numbers were nearly double those in financial support from local taxes. Moreover, the police budget also received money from other sources, such as grants, which were up to 38 million euros in 2017 and about 38.5 million euros in 2018. In short, in both years, the total numbers were over 300 million euros.
As can be seen from the two pie graphs, there were 75% spending of the police budget on salaries in 2017. However, it went down by 6% in 2018 but was still the most spending in the year. Unlike expenditures in buildings and transport which were unchanged after a year, the amount of money used for technology increased in 2018 from 8% to 14% but its rank was still in the last position.
