The graph below shows cinema attendance by age in Great Britain. Write a report for
a university lecturer describing the information shown.
The provided line graph illustrates the data on the percentage of people who are present in the cinema from five different age groups in Great Britain over the period of 19 years, starting from 1984.
Overall, it can be observed that cinema attendance fluctuated among all groups of age throughout the period. However, there was an upward trend in cinema attendance for all groups with the 15-24 age group displaying the most significant increase from 1984 to 2003.
Examining the data for all age groups in more detail, it is evident that the 15-24 age community showed the highest rise (47%) in cinema attendance, from 18% in 1984 to approximately 65% in 2003.
The 25-35 age group exhibited the second most significant growth (28%), starting at 5% from 1984 to 33% in 2003. The remaining groups of age (7-14 age, and age of 35 and over) demonstrated 35% and 17% present in cinema in 2003, starting from 10% and 5%, respectively in 1984.
In conclusion, while all groups exhibit constant change, the 35 and over age community showed the minimum fluctuation among all groups.
