Across the globe, scientific innovations and discoveries has paved way to improvements of various aspects of life. Such a reality might strike a general notion that the key aim of science is its benefits and improvements to human lives, with which I strongly advocate. The essay below will give reasons for the author’s personal viewpoint, providing any relevant examples from personal knowledge or experience.
To begin with, the act of undertaking scientific findings and experiments mostly roots from its practicality in real life, and a major feature only humans can conduct. Whereas other animals cannot possess a sense of scientific innovation, humans have undergone an extended process of harsh labour, which would stimulate the introduction of any supporting tools and methods to the boost of work productivity. For example, the creation of wheels from the prehistoric era shorten the time allocated to transport. This means from the dawn of the history, people have searched for alternatives for the previous working methods, thus science can assure itself as the key answer to the issue of better alternation.
Besides, many scientific achievements disoriented from the aim of life improvement can turn out to be detrimental, even fatal to life security. This is because without caution usage guidelines, general consumers, or even creators themselves, might misunderstand features within a particular scientific products, therefore depending on the functions that later can be proved to have severe side effects. Take the instance of the early 20th century, in which numerous Western citizen add sufficient amounts of radium into a wide range of daily products. Only throughout an extensive legal battle, fatal effects within the chemical was discovered, which struck an immediate abolishment of radioactive substances in most products of daily use. The given example clearly supports the idea that scientific findings must be properly handled and targeted for realistic benefits.
In conclusion, given the two reasons above, it is proved that science should be primary aimed for improving human lives with full intellectual recognition. In the future, as human intellectual levels are increased, science will be accurately directed to its mentioned major purpose as beneficial aspects of life.
